The power of words and music to lift the spirit, to unify the powerless in causes, to make and change relationships, and to tell the story of our eternal struggle with ourselves and our environment... —John  Warner

Margaret has been part of the Australian folk scene for many years, both as a solo singer and as a member of the Roaring Forties, and formerly in partnership with songwriter John Warner.  Her warm, complex  voice has graced songs ranging from traditional ballads, through sea shanties, blues, and songs of industrial life, to contemporary songs of the environment.

The new CD from the Roaring Forties, Life Of Brine, is now available.  60:28 minutes of rousing, rough, and reflective shanties from around the world, sung by Sydney's famous Forties:  Margaret Walters, John Warner, Robin Connaughton, Tom Hanson, and Don Brian.

Margaret’s solo CD, Power in a Song – over 55 minutes of vocal magic – showcases her vital style and sensitive interpretations.  Reviews Track listing Words and Notes
